Our products contain many ingredients. Naturally, they contain food and raw materials such as pork, chicken and turkey. Added to these are research, the recipe, the little details that add flavour, the presentation, packaging, marketing, customer service. Many ingredients are less visible but just as essential, such as a willingness to innovate, to better meet consumer expectations, to surprise and stand out from the competition.

On April 25, all this was recognized by the Retail Council of Canada (RCC), the largest retail trade organization in Canada, which singled out two Flamingo products as finalists in its 18th Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards. The products are Flamingo Krispy Toast and the new Flamingo Breaded Chicken Products. These two products, selected from among hundreds of competing brands, first appeared on the market between January 1 and December 31, 2010.

To rank among the finalists, our products had to meet 5 criteria: uniqueness and innovation, product characteristics, presentation and packaging, overall consumer value and consumer acceptance. Products were judged by a jury of 32 persons including consumers, journalists, advertising executives and members of the grocery industry.
