Chicken Burgers

List of ingredients

  • 1 package (680 g) Flamingo chicken burgers
  • 7 hamburger buns of your choice
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) melted butter
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut in strips
  • 1 French shallot, finely minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 10 ml (2 tsp.) chili powder
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) paprika
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) lemon juice

Toppings:

  • 60 ml (¼ cup) mayonnaise with ½ tsp. Tabasco sauce (if desired)
  • 2 tomatoes, finely sliced
  • 1 small red onion, finely sliced
  • Curled lettuce

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven and cook burgers according to instructions on packaging.
  2. Heat up frying pan over high heat with olive oil, add bell pepper strips and shallot. Cook and stir for two minutes; add garlic, chili, paprika and lemon juice and cook for two more minutes. Set aside.
  3. Brush the inside of buns with butter and toast.
  4. Top each bun with a cooked burger, Tabasco mayonnaise, sautéed bell pepper and lettuce, tomato and onion slices.

  • Serve your burgers with a green salad.
