Greek chicken souvlaki pita

Souvlaki Chicken skewers

List of ingredients

  • 1 package (10 x 50 g) Flamingo chicken souvlaki
  • 5 large pita breads
  • 1 tbsp. ( 15 ml ) olive oil
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 3 romaine lettuce leaves, chiselled
  • 250 ml tzatziki sauce
  • ½ red onion, finely diced

Preparation

  1. Preheat barbecue on medium setting.
  2. Cook souvlaki until fully cooked, for approximately 15 minutes; remove wood skewers and keep warm.
  3. Brush breads with olive oil and lightly toast them.
  4. Top each bread with tzatziki sauce, chicken dices (equivalent to two brochettes per pita), lettuce, onion and tomato.
  5. Roll each pita in a sheet of parchment or aluminum paper.

  • Serve with a Cesar salad and fine herb rice.
